The Chamber hosted a virtual meeting with state senators on June 24 with State Sen. Heather Somers, 18th District, State Sen. Cathy Osten, 19th District, and State Sen. Paul Formica, 20th District. The forum offered the opportunity for the state senators to discuss the state’s response to COVID-19, assistance to individuals and small businesses, tourism dollars, police accountability, absentee ballots, and Eastern Equine Encephalitis. The event was sponsored by Triton Technologies.

Articles from local media offer great coverage of the event:

CT Examiner. “Formica, Osten and Somers Talk Recovery, Absentee Voting, EEE and Tourism Dollars” by Cate Hewitt

The Day. “State senators provide update on budget, police reform, absentee voting” by Erica Moser

The Bulletin. “State senators talk COVID, tourism, special session” by Matt Grahn

The Chamber thanks Senator Formica, Senator Osten, and Senator Somers. State Senator Mae Flexer, 29th District, wanted to join us, but unfortunately, she had a conflict, so we will be looking for a future opportunity to add her voice to the conversation.
