Next Tech Solutions offers a client focused approach for comprehensive office and residential solutions

Next Tech Solutions followed the traditional tech path from humble beginnings in a basement to a full-service technology firm with a fleet of vehicles and clients across the country. Perhaps less traditional is their client-focused approach.

When Connor McGill began Next Tech Solutions (NTS) in 2015 while still at student at Westerly High School, he set a goal of helping small businesses and residents use technology to their benefit at reasonable prices. “Our mission is to make tech work for people, rather than against them,” said McGill.

“We know that technology can be challenging, so we strive to simplify whenever possible by explaining every step, making the process seamless for the client to achieve their goals in web and IT. We believe technology should be accessible to everyone, so we offer quick and simple support for small services and technology over the phone, free of charge,” explained McGill.

Over the years, NTS has grown into a full-service business, providing service to clients as far as California and Texas, with regular on-site service in Boston, Hartford, and New York. NTS graduated from the basement to its first location at the Velvet Mill in Stonington in 2017, providing a place to meet clients, offer products, and establish a community presence. When daily operations outgrew the small office, they moved to their current home at 158 South Broad St. in Pawcatuck in 2019.

Along this journey, NTS carefully mapped their expansion to be responsive to client needs, bringing in the technical experts and support staff needed to provide a positive experience. “When our lead web developer joined us, we began offering web design. As more team members were brought on, we began offering web hosting, email, and now an entire web service and management. With the addition of our lead IT Technician and several others, we now offer an entire Managed IT Services fit for businesses of all sizes,” said McGill.

He emphasized the importance of bringing on an office administrator to handle scheduling, operations and initial IT support, freeing up IT techs for on-site and remote work. Having the right staff and a strong team has enabled NTS to take on large-scale projects for clients in New Haven, Hartford, Providence, New York City, and San Jose among many other locations.

McGill advises businesses looking to expand to begin by putting time into community events. He sees these as excellent opportunities to build on customer relations and create new client relationships.
