Construction Solutions Group President Jim Giuliano knows his way around a building site, an essential skill when providing owner’s project management services.
“I grew up around my family’s masonry business, so you could say that construction is in my blood,” said Jim, who spent summer vacations working alongside his father and brothers. After graduating from Central Connecticut State University, Jim continued working in construction, building a career in project management for construction companies throughout New England.
In 2007, a unique career opportunity presented itself with the Capitol Region Education Council (CREC) based in Hartford, to essentially run their newly established in-house construction division. That experience ultimately drove his decision to create his own company, Construction Solutions Group, LLC (CSG) with business partner and Vice President, Christopher Cykley.
“I have found that success in business is all about recognizing opportunities, taking decisive action and making the most of those moments,” said Jim.
East Hartford based CSG plans to the make the most of its current growth by expanding their footprint in eastern Connecticut, as well as into neighboring Rhode Island, where they have a satellite office in Providence. “CSG is working on projects in the region including Preston Riverwalk and Pierce Memorial Baptist Home, and we look forward to getting move involved in, and giving back to, the eastern Connecticut region through our membership with the Chamber,” said Jim.
CSG’s exclusive focus is delivering owner’s representation and project management services. The team of professionals is dedicated to supporting clients at all phases of facility planning, design and construction with grant applications, procurement of professional services, budget and schedule management and on-site monitoring and reporting. The company’s primary focus includes projects in the K-12/higher education and senior living sectors, reflected in their portfolio of projects across the state.
“We couldn’t have gotten to this point without the extraordinary team of professionals that define us,” said the CSG president. “We all love the work that we do and enjoy helping our clients define their objectives, select the right team and avoid pitfalls.” As a registered Small Business Enterprise (SBE), CSG competes with larger, international firms for multimillion-dollar projects around New England, winning contracts due in large part due to the team’s specialized skills, knowledge, and experience.
Providing services from concept to close-out, the CSG team appreciates the importance of the work they do for their clients and ultimately, the people who enjoy the buildings they guide to completion. “The work that we do is so connected to the communities we live in – we oversee the design and construction of facilities where people live, learn, work and enjoy free time,” said Jim. “It is rewarding to see our buildings turned over to the people that occupy them.”
