The Chamber of Commerce of Eastern CT represents the interests of the region’s businesses and organizations in Hartford, and now its website offers new tools for tracking proposed legislation. The Chamber’s Legislative Affairs Council identified key issues to relevant to business and regional interests in their 2021 Legislative Agenda. Offering testimony on proposed legislation, the Chamber recently weighed in the importance of online gaming agreements with our Tribal partners, increased tourism funding, occupational and professional licenses for military spouses, incentives for data centers, and reducing transportation-related emissions.
In February, the Legislative Affairs Council was joined by state senators and representatives to review the Chamber’s agenda and provide their insights on the current session.
“We appreciate our elected officials taking time to hear the concerns of local businesses,” said Tony Sheridan, president and CEO. “Our membership across industries and all of eastern Connecticut gives the Chamber a broad perspective on current issues, and the members of our Legislative Affairs Council are invested in representing those diverse interests.”
The Chamber’s 2021 Legislative Agenda is available at ChamberECT.com/government-affairs. The page also features an up-to-date feed tracking legislation related to the agenda.
