This summer the sky will light up again with fireworks shows in the region. That’s not all that’s lighting up summer. Enjoy summer fun with special events and performances around the region!

Fireworks!

Moved to Friday, July 9, Killingly hosts Red, White & Blue Celebration & Fireworks, 6-9:30pm, at Owen Bell Park.  Norwich Harbor will host food trucks, fun, and fireworks at Howard T. Brown Park, beginning at 6pm on July 5, the event rain date due to inclement weather predicted Saturday. (Updated on the Norwich Events Organization Facebook page)

New London’s Eat in the Street features fireworks sponsored by Foxwoods Resort Casino and the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation. July 7, 5-10pm, is Pirate Night, with themed foods, cocktails, activities and fireworks at 9pm. August 4, 5-10pm, the fun continues with locally sourced food, art, music, and fireworks at 9pm. September 1, 5-10pm, is a celebration of Latin Heritage Month.

Enjoy a ballgame followed by fireworks at Dodd Stadium. The Norwich Sea Unicorns will have fireworks at the end of every Friday game and on July 4!

On August 21, enjoy Putnam’s celebration with a concert and fireworks.

 

There’s lots of other fun ways to celebrate summer!

Hop on the Thames River Heritage Park water taxi for a special Historic Boat Tour – Submarines, Battlefields, and Betrayers: Military Stories on the Thames this weekend.

Enjoy live music this weekend and throughout the summer at Groton’s Concerts in the Park, Hilton Mystic & The IRONS Summer Concerts, La Grua Center’s Concerts on the Green, Hygienic Art Park Concerts, Norwich Arts Center, East Lyme Summer Concerts, and of course, Foxwoods Resort Casino and Mohegan Sun. Our local wineries pair a fine wine and fantastic music: Stonington Vineyard, Preston Ridge Vineyard, and Saltwater Farm Vineyard.

The Eugene O’Neill Theater Center offers music and exciting performances throughout the summer on their stunning waterfront property. Flock Theatre performs Cyrano de Bergerac at Wilcox Park this weekend and at Mitchell College Red Barn Lawn, July 15-18, 22-25.
