On Friday, October 30, nearly 2,000 people gathered along New London’s waterfront for Halloween Town, the community trunk-or-treat that has been bringing families together for a decade. This year marked the first time the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut organized the event, with support from the City of New London and the New London Cultural District.
The piers were lined with more than 40 decorated trunks and filled with trunk-or-treaters all night. Families from across southeastern Connecticut came for costumes, candy, dance performances and family-friendly activities, all set against the waterfront. To kick off the evening, Lt. Gov. Susan Bysiewicz, U.S. Rep. Joe Courtney, U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal and Mayor Michael Passero walked the piers, enjoying candy and taking pictures with participants.

Best Trunk and Best Costume
Waterford Cub Scout Pack 36 earned the Best Trunk Award for an imaginative display built around the code of honor and a medieval theme. Among the many standout costumes, Miss Gumball Machine and Pirate were named best dressed.
