Award season has arrived at the Chamber. Now is the time to nominate your colleagues or company for one of our upcoming awards: the ECTys, Citizen of the Year, and Military Community Support Award. Each of these events represents the breadth of what the Chamber does to honor local businesses, community partners, and individuals whose accomplishments merit recognition and celebration.
The first event of the season is the ECTys, also known as Annual Regional Chamber Awards. The 9 ECTys honor excellence in community engagement, innovation, customer service, and business best practices. The Cultural Coalition will also join us to present its annual community awards. The awards dinner takes place immediately following the Chamber’s 2022 Annual Meeting, which serves to elect the Chamber’s new leadership and recap its past year activities, on March 30, 2023 at Foxwoods Resort Casino. Later in the spring we will present the Citizen of the Year, now celebrating its 72nd anniversary. The Citizen of the Year is presented annually to an extraordinary individual for outstanding contributions to the civic and business community of the region. This year’s Citizen will be honored at their own dinner event in May 2023. See previous recipients.
Lastly, in May, we honor active-duty service people at our 12th annual Military Appreciation Breakfast. Through the generosity of our members, over 200 complimentary invitations are extended to local military personnel from the US Navy, US Coast Guard, US Army National Guard, and US Space Force, as a thank you for their continued loyalty and sacrifices made for our country. Nominations are reviewed by the Chamber’s Military Affairs Council to recognize one or more organizations that have gone above and beyond in support of uniformed personnel, veterans, and their families.
Nomination deadlines are Friday, February 3rd for ECTys and Citizen of the Year, and Friday, February 24th for Military Appreciation Award. Stay tuned for celebration dates and registration links as we look forward to congratulating our honorees in person.
